Senior Designer at Kitchen & Bath Galleries
108 E. Chatham Street
Cary, NC 27511

Desi graduated from Randolph Community College with a two year degree in interior design. She has been in the kitchen design business for over 25 years beginning her career in High Point at the Snow Home Decorating Center. She then relocated to Raleigh to work for TCR Cabinets. TCR Cabinets joined Crenshaw’s TV and Appliances in 1998 to form Kitchen & Bath Galleries. Desi has worked in the Cary Showroom since that merger.

Desi’s favorite project is “all of them.” She loves the challenges faced in both new construction and remodels. Even after 25 years of design, she still gets excited about each new project. Because every client is different, her job is never monotonous and she truly feels she learns something new every day.

Desi’s favorite part of the job process is the actual design work and solving the client’s design challenges and problems.

Desi loves working at Kitchen & Bath Galleries because not only is it a great place to be employed, it is also a great place for people to come for their cabinetry needs. Whether a client is looking to build or remodel, Kitchen & Bath Galleries tries to maintain an upscale showroom for customers to view the latest on today’s trends. The showroom is continually updated and improved making it one of leading showrooms in the Triangle.

Educational background:
I graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Minor in Art, but my interest in drafting, art, and interior design began in high school.

Career Background:
I have been in kitchen and bath design for almost 13 years with a few different types of cabinet companies in the Triangle. I have a lot of experience in new construction and remodeling.

What sparked your interest in kitchen/bath design?
I am pretty sure it started when my grandmother and mother first put me to work in the kitchen at a really young age. I just never left the kitchen! The women in my family make it the heart of the home.

Favorite part of the job process:
I enjoy meeting new people. Every day brings new challenges and a new wrinkle in the brain, and of course the design itself. It’s like working on a huge 3D jigsaw puzzle!

Outside interests/hobbies:
I am a homebody! I love to be at home, cooking in the kitchen with my husband or creating some new artwork when I have time.
